Queenstown was our favorite town in all New Zealand. It is a picture perfect tiny city situated on a lake with the mountains in the background. It has boating and swimming in the summer, skiing in the winter and great nightlife and restaurants all year-round.

As many of us on the bus tour were parting ways after Queens town we said our final farewells through an organized pub crawl. We started out at an Irish bar where we had a BBQ for $10, then moved on to a bar with dancing and ended in a club. Showing our age, we skipped the last club and moved on to a cowboy bar with saddle seats, stuffed animals, a mechanical bull and the biggest beers we have seen. Jon entered us in a contest where he would run attached to a bungie grab a drink and bring it back for me to chug. No big deal until I found out everyone does it in their underwear!
Jon with Gina B, the best tour guide ever, she bought us all a shot, me with the girls and a photo bomber and Jon enjoying his tasty beer at the cowboy bar.
We also took the opportunity to do a long day tour to the Milford Sound at the southern part of the South Island. So gorgeous and the first fjord I have ever seen!

Where we stayed nights 14-16, Nomads Queenstown, we had a 6-bed dorm with an en-suite for about $30 a night ($60 total). The property was gorgeous with balconies, new kitchen, a movie room and a huge living room with a fireplace and views. We also got free meals at a local restaurant each night which Jon called a child size portion even after he got the upgrade of a larger portion and drink for $5 more.
