Cause of the Month

November 2016

For 10 years, Jo and Terry have been nursing orphaned and injured joeys to healthy adulthood. Some are brought in after their mothers are killed on the roads… some by local Aborigines who’ve hunted the mothers as part of their traditional food gathering.

Josephine’s Gallery & Kangaroo Orphanage in the main street of Coober Pedy. Our passion is rescuing and raising orphaned baby kangaroos. Donations can be made via PayPal at josephine@josephinesgallery.com.au. Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/JOSEPHINES-GALLERY-KANGAROO-ORPHANAGE-129284050419402/

Krama Krama –  Kramas have been worn by Cambodians for centuries and it has many uses (it could be used as hammock, baby sling or bag). With Krama Krama thier goal is to promote this handicraft and support this traditional know-how. They offer a high quality fashion accessory, made by weavers in thier workshop with good working conditions and fair wage. They are part of Sala Baï, a school created by the NGO “Agir pour le Cambodge” (Act for Cambodia). Every year, Sala Baï trains for free almost 100 young and disadvantaged Cambodians to tourism jobs. And that’s why we are proud to donate $5 for every krama sold in thier e-boutique. We are so proud to support this wonderful school, with our own resources.
